In times that are overwelming, he privides mercy...
The otherday I was having a REALLY hard time with one of the children. When nap/bed time came that child just fell over. Out of my mouth came a 'God is merciful'. But the truth is GOD IS MERCIFUL. It was atomatic to say that but it made me really think. God is merciful to us. When we can no longer handle our situation, he provides grace so we can continue or he provides mercy so we don't have to.
I truly beleive grace and mercy come hand in hand.
Psalm 116:5 'Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; our God is merciful.'
Joel 2:13 'and rend your hearts and not your garments.” Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love; and he relents over disaster.'

And how often we imagine that we can't do ONE MORE MINUTE!
When the actual story is that we get pretty focused on self.
Isn't that what happened to Peter when he tried to walk on water?
It's not that his sinking circumstances weren't real, but he took his eyes off Jesus.
Thanks Heather!
Love you!
Love you too.
Good insight, Heather! This is one of the things I love most about being stretched by mothering. It can be so hard, but all the lessons we can learn when looking at Jesus, as Analene said.
